United Trust Renovates Melandah Upazila Health Complex as Pilot Project
Beginning of the Project: United Trust is already working in the Health Sector in six districts of our country. Its beneficiaries are poor rural people and urban slum people. United Trust decided to stand beside these Hospitals and Clinics to enable them to provide better services to the poor rural people who are exploited by private commercial clinics.
Objectives: All the departments of this hospital are fully functional by made up the deficiencies of infrastructure, equipment and non-medical staff. We assist THO in putting a good hospital management system in place to make a doctor and patient-friendly hospital.
Renovated MUHC: We made face lifting of entry point and gardening, car parking facilities, motorcycle and cycle stand and set up entry control at main gate, waiting place for the patient, organized waste disposal, stable electricity supply and generator support. Then we also arranged hygienic washing of cloth, hygienic cook house and food service, uniform for the doctors and staff. We are renovated Melandah Upazila Health Complex hospital in four phases.
Phase-1 (Outdoor Complex): Consultants and Doctor’s chamber are well laid out, furnished, making up equipment shortfalls, adding few “Doctor’s Assistants”. We add a “Help Desk” and a Ticket Counter at the entry and a Path Sample Collection Room. Then we also re-organized Pharmacy Room and arranged patient sitting places (gents and ladies) with 50 non-removable chairs and TV monitors with dedicated cleaning staff. Toilets for doctors and patients are reconstructed.
Phase-2 (Emergency & Diagnostic): The emergency room is shifted to a bigger with a co-located observation room and organized Doctor and Nurse’s restroom with toilet. All these rooms are renovated, furnished and equipped. THO will be made provision of doctors, nurses and staff support round the clock and Efforts will be made for urgent Diagnostic and Pharmacy support round the clock.
Phase-3 (Indoor): Structural renovation of the existing infrastructure. Repair/replacement and painting of existing furniture and restriction on visitors, especially male visitor entry to Female Ward. Labor Rooms are shifted to OT Complex and gearing up ANC and PNC support.
Phase-4 (OT & Labor Room): Minor infrastructure renovated and Testing and repairing existing equipment. Making available: surgeon, anesthetist, gynecologist, OTA and nurses, OT dresses etc.
